Billy the Labrador - 4 Weeks Residential Dog Training

Published
Billy the 1 year old Labrador has completed his 4 week residential training holiday with us

Billy is a lovely boy, but being a typical Labrador, he is a super excitable and happy pup that just wants to have fun and jump around and have a good time.

His owners love his personality and friendly nature, but really wanted to gain more control of him so they could enjoy his happy nature instead of fear him jumping or getting himself into trouble.

After 4 weeks of intensive training, Billy is now a lot better regarding his jumping and has much more impulse control around people. Billy’s owners are working really hard on a calm approach too so that Billy can have the help to stay calm and under threshold so he doesn’t get too excited in every situation.

Billy is a very big and strong boy and walking with him on lead turned into being dragged in every direction. Billy is now much calmer on lead and can walk nicely by his owners side, this has been a crucial addition to his skill set as he does live a busy London life.

Billy had also begun being reactive towards people, this scared his owners, as this antisocial behaviour could easily get him into trouble. Billy is now happy to check in whenever he feels a little unsure and look for guidance instead of taking matters in to his own paws. Billy has also made great progress with his recall, which had been a massive help when worried and enjoying free time.
