VOSD HOSPICE: THE BEST END-OF-LIFE & PALLIATIVE CARE FOR OLD STRAY DOGS IN INDIA

Stray dogs need to be able-bodied due to their need to scavenge or fight for food. In the case of old and infirm dogs, especially those with illnesses, they find it tremendously difficult to find water and food, let alone keep a territory. For the first time in India, there is a place for senior stray dogs to live out the rest of their days in peace – the VOSD Hospice.

Hospice is the type of care that focuses on tending to the physical, medical, and emotional needs of dogs during their last days. We prioritise the comfort and quality of life of the animal by reducing their pain and suffering and helping them cope with their age/ailments.

A dog in our care at the VOSD Hospice will have the best protection from the elements, a warm bed, nutritious food, clean water, and palliative veterinary care. We have a strict policy against euthanasia so as much as possible, the dog will pass on by natural, biological death. They are granted dignity even during death as much as when they are alive, so every dog is either buried or cremated after passing.

The best part is there is NO surrender fee to admit a senior stray dog to the VOSD Hospice. We care more about the dog, and would rather they stay in the safety and comfort of our campus rather than being abandoned or suffering on the streets alone in their last days.

Hundreds of such old stray dogs call VOSD home; would you be kind enough to help us meet their food & medical expenses for October'21?

All you need to do is donate INR 5,000 (~$68) or any amount you wish to, care for senior special needs dogs: https://vosd.in/active-campaigns/monthly-expenses/.

Make a difference in the lives of old stray dogs during their last days, that’s when they need you the most!
