Pixie the Cockapoo puppy - 4 Weeks Assistance Dog Residential Dog Training

Published
Pixie the 4 month old Cockapoo has returned home after her 4 week residential training stay with us!!

Pixie came to us with the aim to lay some solid foundations for her so later on in life she could become her mum’s assistance dog.

During her stay with us it became apparent that Pixie was lacking confidence in new situations and environments to the point where she didn’t want to leave the house and she also struggled with loud and unexpected noises!
We’ve immediately started the process of desensitising her to all sort of noises and introduced confidence building activities such as sniffing and interacting with the environment!

We took things slow and worked on foundations for all her basic obedience in a safe environment of the house first, then progressed to the garden and slowly to the neighbourhood and so on!

Pixie’s confidence has grown immensely during her stay and eventually we were able to work in environments such as the town centre or a local shopping mall!!

We’ve loved working with Pixie and although she can be a little worrier, she is also a cheeky little girl who now loves her walks and is able to respond and focus in number of environments and around fair amount of distractions!!

Go and enjoy all your doggie adventures Pixie .. you’ve got this ????❤️ www.adolescentdogs.com #cockapoo #residentialdogtraining #puppytraining
