Teddy the Miniature Dachshund - 4 Weeks Residential Dog Training

Published
Teddy the 1 Year Old Dachshund has completed his 4 week residential training holiday

When Teddy he arrived, he was chasing almost everything that moved- cars, bikes, dogs and lorries.

After 4 weeks of intensive training, Teddy can now walk past all of these triggers without barking and lunging, and can respond to a variety of obedience cues without losing focus

Teddy also loves prey and would go off hunting whilst ignoring his owner, meaning walks were stressful and ended up being on lead only. His owner really wanted Teddy to enjoy freedom so recall was a big focus for us.

Teddy can now recall away from distractions and is responsive to cues from a distance, which keeps him focused and engaged When off lead. This helps him to check in with his owner on his walk without constant prompting

Last but not least, Teddy has learnt how to settle in the home and stay calm when asked. Teddy in general is good in the house, but it’s good for him to have this structure so he doesn’t get too excited when people come over or go mad trying to open his mums Amazon packages????
