VET APPROVED HOMEMADE + HEALTHY DOG FOOD RECIPE | COOKING FOR YOUR DOG | PART 2

Hey Friends! In today's video I am going to be sharing with you how to make a vet approved healthy homemade dog food! This video is part 2 and I strongly recommend checking out part 1 first because in that video I provide tons more information about why I switched my dogs to homemade dog food. My dogs have been doing amazing on this home made dog food formula! Please check with your dog's veterinarian before making any changes to their food. I am not a licensed veterinarian , I am just sharing what works for my pets! This recipe was approved by my dog's veterinarian and this recipe is meeting all of my dogs nutritional needs. Please remember that all dogs are different so this recipe may or may not work for your pup!

Vet Approved homemade dog food recipe (This makes about 16 cups)
*I used a 10qt instant pot for this recipe
469 calories per cup of food
Ingredients:
-1 apple
-3C brown rice or chopped sweet potatoes
-2T olive oil
-5-6 pounds of beef
-5C of spinach
- 4 carrots chopped
-12oz brocoli
-12oz green beans
-2-3C water

Wash all veggies if using fresh and chop into small chunks. Add veggies to instant pot, then rice, meat, olive oil, and water. Make sure to press down veggies before adding meat. Once meat is added, press it down and add olive oil and 2-3 cups of water. Add lid to instant pot and pressure cook for 25 minutes on high. When timer goes off let sit for 5 minutes and then do a manual release. use masher gadget to get everything mashed and well mixed! I then add 5t of calcium. It tells you on the back of the calcium bottle how much to add per pound! 5t works perfect for this recipe. Serve to dogs warm so please allow time for it to cool before serving it to your pup! This recipe will last 3-4 days in the fridge. I freeze extras and take out of freezer to thaw the night before as needed. My dogs eat this recipe cold but feel free to heat it up if needed.

Now this recipe here has a balance of 50% protein, 25% veggies and 25% grains, but the ratios can easily be adjusted to suit your pup’s breed and/or needs.
